The idea behind HCMS is to develop a stable Content Managment web application which can be extended with relative ease. For more information on what this project is and is not, see the idea page. Currently the only developer is nuclearsanta, located in Winnipeg Canada. Contact email is nuclearsanta@gmail.com. NewsOctober 25
Trunk version now works for displaying pages from the database. Logging needs to be added, along with a better templating structure.
Life has been very busy lately, and as a result not much has changed in the last few days. The server remains the same (thankfully), whilst gandalf
needs to be looked at, aparently it doesn't want to boot even a live-cd. October 16 Some recent downtime in the last few days, other than that the development has been steady. Some overhaul needs to be done in terms of organizing files and svn repository. The user class has been written to some degree, or atleast enough to query the database about users. Need to go back and lay out the design again and re-code for 1.1.x already. Busy busy the next few days, so not much is likley to get done. October 7 The domain hackingcms.org has been registered, the User class in the next thing to work on, inputing modifying and viewing things in the database. October 4 Lots of development going on. Trunk working properly with the database class written. The next step is to add some sessions. This site has some new areas now as well. The logs need to be kept outside the svn repository, there just taking up space. Other than that, development going awesome! October 1 Working on this site, getting it updated. Development of HCMS should begin in the next few days. Development side panel now online, with links to all the important stuffs. September 26 Site back up from recent downtime, this was due to me forgetting the root password and not being able to start the webserver back up. Anyways, all is well and development should start again soon. September 20 Not a whole lot of things new since the 18th. Some bugs were fixed in the trunk version. Next thing to do is to add a page-editing class. IE the admin class. Also add the user managment? User registration? Login Logout first though. Playing lots of guitar, so not as much development as usual. Give me a shout if you want to be a part of HCMS ( nuclearsanta@gmail.com ). September 18 Split svn repository up into branch and trunk dirs. Database now works, need to fix some minor bugs like an error in makeMenu etc. IRC channel not up, been working on v1.0.1 to much to get one going. Work has been slow but steady. Need to create another TODO list since the last one is in branch 1.0.0 somewhere. September 12 The database is being worked on, and things are starting to come together. In the next few days I will create an unofficial channel on freenode (##hcms instead of the usual #hcms). Work has slowed slightly, but is still moving forward. September 8 Development for HCMS is going ahead, all servers up and running. No formal IRC service as of yet. Work is slow, going ahead with mysql support instead of flat file in next revision. August 29 Application for a informal group on the freenode network has been submitted. Web system being developed more than the project at the moment, soon to change. August 28 The server that is hosting HCMS is now running OpenBSD. Only the requirements have been loaded, and all accounts have a random password. Better to be on the safe side... websvn is now available on our server. That is currently the only way to view current code. |
